Christmas Gifts for Bikers

The holiday season brings with it many blessings, but also some hardships. While receiving gifts is always nice, buying them can be a bit trickier business. There are some people in everybody’s life who are notoriously difficult to shop for, and when it comes to those people, gift-giving can easily become a stressful and anxiety-inducing affair instead of a way to show love and appreciation.

Still, one of the best ways to ensure that you get a good present is to be aware of the hobbies and habits of the person you’re shopping for. For example, if your friend relaxes with a good fantasy book, you’ll generally head off to the closest bookshop and get them a nice edition of the book they’ve been raving about for the last three months. If your mom transforms the afternoon tea into a ceremony, you can consider a nice new tea set.

And yet, sometimes your loved ones have hobbies and interests so far away from yours that, even though you know what they like, you’re no closer to knowing what they’d like to get for Christmas. Bikers generally fall into that category. If you’re not a biker, but one of your closest people is, you’ll probably be able to think of a situation in which you got them a biking present and expected them to be over the moon, only to be disappointed at their lack of reaction. Don’t worry, we’re here to help. Here are some suggestions for all of you who are not entirely sure of what is a good Christmas gift for your (biker) loved one.

1. A video game

One of the most intimidating things about shopping for bikers is the fact that they are usually incredibly picky about anything bike-related. Still, there are ways to work around it. If your biker is also a gamer, there are few better gifts than a biking-themed video game. It is a combination of the two passions of their life, so they’re highly likely to love it. It shows that you know what they are all about, and it doesn’t put you in the dangerous positions of buying equipment you know nothing about. All you need to do is check out the games they already have, in order to avoid buying them something they already have.

2. A T-shirt

If you thought that biking and fashion don’t mix… Well, you’re not entirely wrong. While bikers are very fussy about all the biking gear, some of them tend to disregard the everyday clothes. If you know one of those, you can save their life by getting them some of the cool biking T-shirts. If they’re bike-themed, the shirts will reflect the biker’s passion, and they’re clothes – which are always useful.

3. Gloves

Gloves are a very important part of the gear. They protect the hands from the elements, and they look pretty cool. Still, they are a bit more expendable than the rest of the equipment, and it doesn’t hurt to have multiple pairs. In addition, they’re fairly easy to get right even if you don’t have any biking experience. So if you know that your beloved biker is in need of some high-quality gloves, stop by the closest MX Store and get them a nice pair. They can make for a highly practical, yet at the same time really thoughtful gift.

4. Magazine subscription

Sure, many people today don’t bother with actual paper magazines and prefer to simply read online. Yet, there is something about holding the actual thing in your hands, that cannot be replaced by a computer screen. If you know that the biker you’re shopping for likes a particular biking magazine, but rarely buys it, a subscription is a great idea. It’s very easy to pull off, as most of the subscriptions nowadays go through the web anyway, so you don’t even have to go out of your way to get it. It will give your friend or family member something nice to look forward to every single month, so it’s not just a one-time thing. They can even start collecting the magazine editions, so you may be giving them a new hobby as well!

5. A wallet

If you know for a fact that the person you’re shopping for has a wallet that’s looked a bit tattered lately, you may consider buying them one with the logo of their favourite bike! It’s another extremely thoughtful gift because it shows you are familiar with their needs. Furthermore, it plays on their love for the bike, so it’s a win-win!

With a bit of creativity, you can get your biker friend a gift that they will truly appreciate. Pay a tiny bit of attention to the things they need, and find a way to mash it up with their love of bikes. You’ll find a perfect gift in no time!
