It’s nearly the most wonderful time of the year, and we all know what that means, work Christmas parties! Whether this is your first, or you just want to make sure you’re ready for the big event, we’ve got 3 simple tips to help you prepare. This will help to take so much of the stress away as you will feel ready to just let your hair down and enjoy! So, let’s get into it and help you to get ready to have the best time with your colleagues at your Christmas party.
Get Your Outfit Sorted
The first thing on the agenda once you know where the party is, is to get your outfit sorted! You want to look and feel incredible for your Christmas party, so take a look at the dress code and then get shopping. If it’s cocktail, get yourself one of your favourite little black dresses that you’ve been eyeing up, for less formal events a skirt and top is perfect or maybe it’s super fancy in which case you need a floor length dress!
The main thing to make sure is that you’re completely comfortable, so you can stand up and sit down with ease and just generally enjoy yourself. Also make sure you’re sensible when it comes to your choice of shoes, as you don’t want sore feet to put a dampener on the night!
Plan Your Transport
Next up, make sure you plan your transport. Christmas party period is one of the busiest when it comes to people needing taxis, so it’s not wise to assume you’ll be able to get one last minute on the night of the party. Instead, you should definitely pre-arrange your transport. If a few people live nearby to you, speak to them about booking a shared taxi, or maybe if you live quite far away you could ask a member of your family or one of your friends to come and pick you up. No matter what is easiest in terms of your transport, as long as you get it sorted in advance, life will be much easier on the night.
Have A Big Lunch
Last but not least, in terms of preparation on the big day itself, make sure you have a big lunch! Most Christmas parties involve quite a lot of drinking and usually food will be served quite late, which can cause you to feel very drunk very quickly! So, make sure you have a substantial meal at lunch, so you don’t feel hungry and you won’t have to leave the event early because you get a bit too drunk.
We’d also recommend alternating your drinks with water throughout the night, as there is nothing worse than embarrassing Christmas party stories! It is particularly bad if you can’t remember them and someone else has to tell you, so make sure you’re sensible whilst also having a good time.
